Soprano Lucie St-Martin is recognized for her distinctive stage presence that captivates audiences both in Quebec and internationally. She has distinguished herself by winning both First Prize and the Critic’s Prize at the Alcamo International Competition (Italy), being a finalist at the Lotte Lenya Competition (New York), and receiving the Audience Prize at the Canari International Competition (Corsica). Her talent has also been showcased in concerts in China, Slovakia, and Germany.
She has collaborated with prestigious ensembles such as the Orchestre Métropolitain, the Orchestre symphonique de Québec, the Menninger Hofkapelle, I Musici, and the Orchestre de l’Agora. She has benefited from the guidance of renowned artists including Joyce DiDonato, Jean-François Lapointe, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, and Soile Isokoski.
Following her studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, she completed residencies with the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal and Opera on the Avalon in Newfoundland. She is also a laureate of the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques of Canada (Théâtre Lyricorégra 20), where she garnered over six awards at the 2024 Gala.
Lucie stands out through the realism and depth of her interpretations, as demonstrated in roles such as Elle (La Voix humaine, Jeunesses Musicales Canada), L’Enfant (L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, Opéra de Montréal), Giannetta (L’Elisir d’amore, Opéra de Québec), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte, CMM), Tytania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Opera NUOVA), Adele (Die Fledermaus, CMM), Stella (La fille du tambour-major, OBQ), as well as Meg Giry and Christine Daaé (The Phantom of the Opera, EVENKO).
Originally from Gatineau, Quebec, Lucie discovered the stage through musical theatre at École Artishow, where she trained for eight years. This background continues to influence her artistic approach to music and performance.
